Lesson 4/Day 7
Martin Luther said of these verses “After terrifying us, the apostle now comforts us.” That’s pretty accurate, don’t you think? To this point in Hebrews chapters three and four, the author has reminded us of the seriousness of failing to enter God’s rest. Words like: rebellion, provoked, wrath, and evil along with images of a slicing sword that cuts us open to our very core have filled the past twenty or so verses – very serious stuff! But, now a shift...

Lesson 4/Day 6
God’s Word is not just a book written hundreds of years ago by some guy who is dead and gone and really didn’t know anything about you or me. It’s not just made up of divinely inspired sentences. It’s personal. God, Himself, is speaking into our ears His view of us and of truth. It’s not a dead word spoken by irrelevant dead men from the past, it’s a living and powerful today.

Lesson 4/Day 5
In yesterday’s lesson we wrapped up at Hebrews 4:11, and the heart of author of Hebrews is again clear in his concern for us. It is an exhortation to be earnest and careful so that you don't throw away the offer of God's rest. Today, we’ll see how and why to even greater detail. Join the Bible study "Live or Later." The good news came to them in the Old Testament the Jews then to us in the New Testament. Good news is only good to those who receive it and respond appropriately, right? Jesus makes this clear in his ministry in fact Jesus opened his ministry after faithfully defeating Satan's Temptation with these words from Isaiah...

Hebrews Chapter Three - Create/Share
Tuesday Oct 31, 2017
Tuesday Oct 31, 2017
For this lesson’s “Create & Share” let’s take time to put into practice Hebrews 3:13. Write a note, send a card, text your group today and share a word of encouragement. We all have many distractions and even discouragements that we can use as an excuse keeping us from living out our heavenly calling. Who can you connect with today for encouragement?
Do you need encouragement? You can take time today to reach out also! I’d be so happy to connect with you. Let’s live out what we have studied in this chapter and “exhort one another every day.” You can reach me here:

The author of Hebrews is exhorting and encouraging us today to check our hearts. If we don’t hold tight, we were never truly of “his house.” Do not treat God’s grace lightly. Don’t think that you can receive it like a way out, but not live with God’s guidance and truth in your daily life. Don’t leave this time today satisfied in taking the mercy of God to avoid Hell, but remain hard in your heart toward him when it comes to daily fellowship. Humble your heart today and exhort others in your life to do the same.

There's always a reason not to be in the Word, "It's too hard....", "I don't have enough time...", "I've gotten behind..." and the Enemy is ready to continue to find even more reasons to keep you discouraged or deluded by your mindset. My prayer today is that you would remain steadfast and continue to grow in your desire to be in the Word and that you would come alongside others to do the same.
