Lesson 7/Day 8 - Do you ever get a little frozen considering whether this or that is a better deal? You don’t want to waste your money on something that’s less expensive but poorly made, on the other hand, you don’t want to overspend on something if you don’t have to...decisions decisions! Which is the better deal? I call this “deal paralysis.” You check the websites, ask around and finally...hopefully, you just go for it and hope for the best. If only shopping could be as obvious of a sure thing as our hope in God, right? And it is a sure thing! Our hope is sure because it is secured by The Oathmaker – the One for whom it is impossible to lie. Let’s prayerfully enter our study today assured of this!

Lesson 7/Day 7
At this point in our study about priesthoods, Melchizedek, and how the Hebrew audience was resistant to seeing Jesus as better than all, you may be thinking, “Yeah, but I get it! Jesus is better. What is wrong with these Hebrews that they couldn’t just see Jesus?!” Yet, I have found in my own life as well as my ministry with others that knowing that Jesus is better and truly living a surrendered life to Him are two entirely different things. We may say with our words “Lord, I’m all yours!” but our hearts drift far from him – we don’t deny him and shake our fist at heaven – nothing as dramatic and obvious as that! Instead, we just craft for ourselves a “Jesus And” sort of religion. Jesus and my health. Jesus and my family. Jesus and my career. Jesus and my hopes. Before we sigh with impatience at the audience in this book, let’s examine our own hearts and repent of anything in which we seek perfection outside of Jesus.
